"The heart can hold what the mind can't understand.

Our journey is reclaiming the power of the heart."

— AMARATMA SINGH KHALSA, FOUNDER, INSTITUTE FOR COMPASSIONATE GRIEVING

- Grief isn't a problem to solve. It's an experience to move through.

A new way to
move through loss

Science-Grounded Wisdom

For nearly 20 years, AmarAtma searched through yoga, meditation, therapy, and spiritual practice before discovering what was missing: grief that isn't felt stays stored in the body. This book brings together neuroscience, traditional healing systems one compassionate, accessible framework.

50+ Somatic Techniques

Breathwork, mindful movement, yoga, qigong, acupressure, and sensory practices — each one designed to meet grief where it actually lives: in the body. Tools that work with your nervous system, not against it.

For Every Kind of Loss

Grief doesn't only come from death. It comes from diagnosis, heartbreak, lost dreams, and lives that changed without warning. Whatever brought you here, this book offers support without rushing or bypassing a single moment of it.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Grief changes
everything,
including how
you live day to day

Embodied Practices for Letting Go and Finding Peace

We live in a culture that doesn't know how to grieve. We're handed platitudes, timelines, and the unspoken message that falling apart is a burden. So we hold it together. And grief stays held — in the chest, in the shoulders, in the sleepless night. In the lonely moments when no one understands.

This book is an invitation to explore grief tenderly. No one gave you a map for this. The Tender Art of Grieving offers something our culture rarely does: permission to grieve fully, without rushing, without pretending to have strength you don't feel. More than 50 body-based practices to help you finally, gently, let go.

- MINDFUL MOVEMENT
